Abby's Gallery - dedicated to nurturing children's creativity and artistic talent

Workshops

I give my workshops at libraries, parents' groups, and children's organizations etc. If your organization is interested in the following workshops, please contact me at abbychandra@gmail.com .

I currently offer two types of workshops:

1) Workshop for parents and caregivers of young children on how to nurture chidlren's creativity and artistic talent --

Creativity and artistic talent do not just belong to the few people who were born with them. They can be cultivated and nurished in each one of us. If parents and caregivers can be more aware of providing the right environment and encouragement to their children, the creativity and artistic talent of their chidlren will flourish sooner rather than later.

Workshop details:
This one hour long workshops will cover the importance of the development of creativity and artistic expression of children. It will discuss the misconception that creativity and artistic talent are discovered at a young age and that people are born with them. Most importantly, it will discuss ways that parents and caregivers can do to help develop their children's artistic talent and nurture their creativity.

2) Workshop for older children on the topic of finding their mission in life --
Art can be used as a tool for self discovery for it helps us visuallize our thoughts and future. This workshop encourages children to express their personal interests, passion, and strength through drawing and use those as a base to teach children think about their purpose in life. It is imperative to introduce the concept of purpose in life to youngsters. This can lead them to the right path and motivate them to achieve their full potential.

Workshop details:
This one and a half hour long workshop targets children between the age of 9 and 12. It is an interactive workshop. It will first discuss what it means by one's mission in life and the importance of finding one's mission in life. It will then encourage the participants to express their personal interests, passion, and strength through drawing. The final part of the workshop with discuss about how to search for one's mission in life through personal interests, passion, strength, and the needs of the society.
