Welcome to my blog.  My name is Abby Chandrasekaran.  I am an artist specializing in pastel and oil portraits of children.  I did not start out focusing on painting children.  However, over the years, I have painted more children than any other subjects.  I found myself naturally drawn to painting children.  I am inspired by their innocent nature and their curiosity about the world.  There is so much we can learn from children.  The most important of all is their unprejudiced view of the world and the people around them.

As a children portrait artist and a mother of a toddler, I am also passionate about nurturing children’s creativity and artistic talent.  I use this blog not only to  share my journey in art, but also to provide resources and open dialogs on the topic of nurturing children’s creativity and artistic talent.
